We build self-esteem by empowering children to make decisions and lead projects. Every child has unique strengths and talents. Rose and Lion programs help children identify these strengths and build upon them, leading to higher self-esteem. Additionally, we intentionally cultivate beliefs about self-worth and self-confidence. We introduce belief statements, such as “I am worthy and capable,” to support learning and development. We explore ways to reduce or erase negative self-talk.
The beliefs “I am good enough” and “I am worthy” help children build self-esteem, while simultaneously allowing them to explore new aspects of themselves. When a child feels confident and supported, they can safely try out new skills.
Our story-based approach helps develop the foundation for higher self-esteem and self-acceptance. We take story, use it to immerse the child in the story, create a safe environment in which the child can imagine themselves in the story and craft an appropriate ending. Then we transition from story to reality, allowing the child to develop the real-world experience of a particular leadership trait. This approach supports the child’s skill development, while reinforcing self-esteem and self-confidence.
