Explore and expand a child’s leadership potential through 1:1 sessions with Founder Erika Hovland Bahij.
Erika jump-started her career by taking on leadership roles while very young – creating a mentorship program in her high school, acting as Cadet Commander in Civil Air Patrol, co-Captain of her swim team and holding leadership positions in her sorority and the Panhellenic Council.. These early leadership experiences helped her become a Supervisor at age 22 and granted her the opportunity to gain more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in both a Fortune 200 and entrepreneurial setting. While that might not be everyone’s goal (!), the basic experience of learning to lead at a young age was pivotal.
Importantly, it was the “soft skills” that were most beneficial — collaborating, listening, decision-making, sensible risk-taking and visioning are vitally important skills. And to gain those skills, a child needs to feel confident, supported and motivated.
In these leadership sessions, we’ll begin with goal-setting and an assessment of current skills and experiences. Then, we’ll work to support each child in gaining the pivotal social and emotional skills that enable the development of core leadership skills. And we’ll create a path for expressing these leadership skills in a way that is unique and authentic to the strengths of the individual.
